About Us

Manoa Senior Care is a collection of 11 private, licensed Adult Residential Care Homes for Oahu’s seniors. We offer fully-furnished private rooms with en-suite bathrooms, all meals, medication management, activities and transportation to doctor’s appointments. All of our homes have two live-in nurses as well as a staff of nurse aides and are located on quiet streets in Manoa and Kaimuki. Our home-like settings offer happy, healthy and comfortable places for seniors to age in place.

Our team of healthcare professionals are supported by a solid administrative team, ready to provide and coordinate the services you need. We welcome the opportunity to assist you, or your loved one, in any way we can.

Our Team

Lora Garcia, Director of Nursing

Lora received her nursing degree in Los Angeles in 2008 and has spent the subsequent years caring for seniors. Most recently, she came to us from The Plaza at Waikiki, where she was Director of Nursing for 140 residents and managed 40 staff members. Before that she was a Charge Nurse at Kahala Nui, where she cared for residents and supervised a team of Nurse Aides. In addition to her nursing degree, Lora also holds certifications in IV Therapies, Herbology and Massage Therapy.

Joanna Vietor, Director of Nursing

JoAnna received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing in 2013 from St. Catherine University in Minnesota and her Master’s Degree in Nursing while working as a nurse for 5 years at Manoa Senior Care. She is currently working on her doctorate degree. JoAnna has a passion for geriatric care; and strives to bring a positive and upbeat attitude to all she encounters.

Aren LaVigne, Nurse Recruiter

Upon completion of her nursing degree in Minnesota, Aren started her career as an RN at Manoa Senior Care. After leaving Hawaii she spent several years as a travel nurse, with assignments in Denver, Vail, South Carolina, Minneapolis, Seattle, and Alaska. She eventually settled back in Minnesota, where she currently works part-time at Unity Hospital in the Surgical Department.

Evelyn Toyama, Executive Assistant

Born and raised on Oahu, Evelyn comes to Manoa Senior Care with twenty plus years of experience in operations, management and senior care. Her expertise and skills also includes bringing people together through her ideas and inspiration.

Marsha Murai, Office Manager

Marsha has been with Manoa Senior Care since August of 2001. In her role as Office Manager, she oversees employee benefits and payroll, and is in charge of facilities management and food service in the Care Homes.

Paul M. Dold, President

Born and raised in Minnesota, Paul first came to the islands when he attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa and received his bachelor’s degree. After going back to Minnesota and obtaining a law degree from the William Mitchell College of Law, Paul returned to Hawaii and began his law practice. Paul established Manoa Senior Care in 1994 with one Adult Residential Care Home in East Oahu. Today, Manoa Senior Care is comprised of eleven care homes located in Manoa and Kaimuki.

Gillian Davidson

Born and raised in Atlantic Canada, Gillian received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Memorial University of Newfoundland. Her background consists of working with the elderly and also management experience as a Resident Coordinator at her university.  Gillian started her career as a registered nurse here at Manoa Senior Care and has since been promoted to Nurse Manager. Gillian enjoys mentoring and coaching others and brings a positive energy to Manoa Senior Care.

Ashley Hiljus

Ashley received her nursing degree in Minnesota. She discovered her passion for the geriatric population during her 8+ years of working in long-term care. Her love for working with seniors extends to Manoa Senior Care where she has since been promoted to Nurse Manager. Ashley plans to continue her education online and eventually obtain her doctorates.

Jennifer Posch

Jennifer is a Registered Nurse from St. Cloud, Minnesota with 6 years of clinical practice experience. Her areas of expertise are geriatrics and rehabilitation. Jennifer started her nursing career as an LPN at the Veteran’s Hospital back in Minnesota on a rehabilitation/respiratory unit and continued her employment while obtaining her RN. After graduating with her RN degree, Jennifer booked a one-way trip to Hawaii to work for Manoa Senior Care where she worked as a house nurse for 2 years and a year ago was promoted to Assistant Director of Nursing.
